Set against the backdrop of industrial Los Angeles, "The Day Laborers" tells the story of three young Hispanics who believe in the idea of making a new start and a new life, in America. An unexpected death provides the impetus they need to begin the journey that will change their lives forever. They soon learn the harsh realities involved with trying to make it in America as day-laborers or "jornaleros". Tura, Pillo and Quique begin to break apart as they struggle to overcome their own obstacles and find their place in this new society. Somehow, together they learn that more than anything, it takes relying on each other to make their dreams came true.
